Amy WillmonAmy Willmon, a PGA Member Professional for over 10 years, is regarded as one of the industry’s leaders for the PGA’s initiative, Get Golf Ready. Amy grew up in a small suburb outside of Houston where she was introduced to the game of golf at the age of four and by the age of seven Amy was establishing an impressive junior career in the Houston Golf Association, often selected as the city’s Player of Year. For 4 straight years, her record was 30 wins of 33 events and one second with three of these titles including the Texas State Junior Girls Championship. Two consecutive victories in the Pan American Classic in Austin, TX, a perennial top 5 contender in the Texas Oklahoma Tournament, a fourth place finish in the state high school championships, leading her team to a second place finish in the 5A division as a freshman, rounded out her Texas high school career.

Amy completed her junior career with AJGA events finishing with an impressive stroke average of 74. Amy took her dominating game to the University of Texas at El Paso. She led the Miners to several top 10 finishes including her third place finish which led the team to their first victory at the Islander Invitational. She still holds the women’s career scoring record at UTEP of 73.2.
And it was here where she fell in love with coaching junior players as she traded practice time for aiding with the junior scheduling at Coronado C.C. She graduated UTEP with a BA in Communication/Advertising with a GPA of 4.0; finished ranked 14th in NCAA Division I Women’s golf; and was the team captain for 3 ½ years. Amy was the 1st Female Head Golf Professional in the PGA’s Southwest Section and is a passionate provider for Get Golf Ready clinics. Her desire is to assist golfers of all levels to achieve their personal goals, from juniors, to Get Golf Ready to the experienced player, makes her strength for any team. With her bubbly personality, and drive to succeed, it’s easy to see why she is a valued asset.
